so my brother had a few issues of my take on the bands i saw. to my defense, it was written in the middle of the night, with little thought, and only a few minutes spared to jot it down. i compared the hellacopters to an 80s hair band. joe informed me that "70s cock rock/glam" was a more accurate description. my bad. i'm no expert in music and rock history so i suppose i just categorize many genres into more general categories. the less someone knows about a type of music, obviously the less they will be able to sub-categorize the main type. i used megadeth to compare nebula, but i should have been more specific and said the way he sang was similar to dave mustaine's singing in megadeth. not necessarily the style of music. and finally my take on the black lips left my brother imagining the spin doctors. now that i have re-read what i wrote, i agree. but i stand by what i said. some of what i wrote included, "my favorite band that played" and "they freaking rock[ed] damn it." now is that something you would ever hear anyone say after a spin doctors concert? they are a young band, with a 60s rock sound, with a scrawny guy in a mustache who is slightly off his rocker. that's the black lips. and they are pretty incredible i think.
time for more utah gayness. the newscasting here is terrible. their stories are about 75 percent human interest stories and...actually, i'm going to reserve this space and watch the news tonight. i'll scribble some notes and report back at nineteen-hundred hours. the stories will speak for themselves. maybe i'm wrong though. i just remember never being able to stand the local news. stupid people, stupid stories. of course every other station across america has newcasters/ing that makes you cringe. but something about utah is different. of course there is little major crime, so maybe they think all there is left to report on is a vandalism at the local church building. this and all the really positive cancer survivor stories are all great and newsworthy, but i guarantee so many other things are going on that are even more newsworthy and get brushed off to newspapers in the morning. and maybe that is the local news' job. their audience might be the house wives/moms waiting for their husbands to come home. are they just the type to rather hear about irrelevant local issues? and when i say local, i'm talking in terms of communities within cities, and not necessarily city, county, or state government. it seems like these governments are outside the scope of what the news will cover. i'm probably way off though. the big news is for the husbands when they come home later and watch brian williams and jon stewart. seems to me like this is just more evidence of the gender roles that exist today. big man in charge of big important things that woman can't understand. woman better equipped to handle little things. i don't know, i'm just talking. utah news to come.
okay so i totally spaced watching the news when time came around. sorry. i'm dead tired and have a group presentation, individual presentation, and massive final project all due monday. i officially started on all of these assignments about two hours ago. but right now, it's taking back sunday.

I guess you've never listened to the 12" club version of "Pocket Full of Krypronite"
